I recently had the opportunity to photograph the De La Tour family for Owens eight month mile stone photos. Emily and Nick reached out to me this fall, hoping to document this time. Emily sent me some inspiration photos she had stored on Pinterest and we collaborated to make her vision become a reality.

Emily had a clear vision for her family photos, desiring a blend of candid moments and timeless portraits that highlighted their close-knit bond. We collaborated closely to understand her preferences, discussing everything from locations to wardrobe choices to ensure every detail resonated with her family's personality. On the day of the shoot, we embraced the natural light and beautiful surroundings, capturing spontaneous laughter and heartfelt interactions that truly reflected their story. The result was a stunning collection of images that not only met but exceeded Emily's expectations, beautifully encapsulating the essence of her family.

I was so happy to be able to document their whole family including their dog Cali! She was so good during this session! I feel like it is so fun when families bring their pets to their family sessions. I really think it helps paint the whole picture of who their family is during this point in time of their life. I really hope that one day, when Owen is grown, he can look back at these photos and remember his first sweet dog Cali and see how much his parents love him.

I just love the way the sunlight was shining in through the trees in these photos. It was something that was in a lot of Emily’s inspiration photos and I am so happy we were able to capture it!

When to Take Milestone Photos
