Wedding Photography at The Ribault Club in Jacksonville Florida

Caitlin & Logan

I recently had the honor of working with Taylor Robinson at Caitlin and Logan’s wedding at The Ribault Club in Jacksonville Florida. While I worked as a second photographer at this wedding, the images featured in this blog post are all my own. I have been granted permission to utilize these photos to promote my business.

Capturing Love & Perseverance: Caitlin & Logan's Wedding at the Ribault Club, Jacksonville, Florida

As a professional wedding photographer in Jacksonville, Florida, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless love stories, each unique and beautiful in its own way. But every once in a while, I photograph a wedding that stands out—not just because of the couple, but because of the entire experience. Caitlin and Logan Werner’s wedding at the historic Ribault Club on Fort George Island was one of those unforgettable days. From the stunning waterfront venue to the emotional first looks, the incredible bridal party, and an unexpected obstacle that tested everyone’s determination, this wedding was a testament to love, patience, and the magic of wedding photography in Jacksonville.

The Ribault Club: A Dream Venue for Jacksonville Wedding Photography

Since moving to Florida, I’ve had the opportunity to shoot at some stunning venues, but the Ribault Club quickly became one of my favorite wedding venues in Jacksonville. This historic venue on Fort George Island exudes Southern charm with its grand architecture, sweeping oak trees, and picturesque waterfront views. The way the sunlight filters through the Spanish moss creates an ethereal glow that makes every shot feel timeless—a dream setting for any Jacksonville wedding photographer.

What makes the Ribault Club truly special is the versatility it offers for wedding photography. The vast lawns provide an elegant setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies, while the historic building itself offers rich textures and classic backdrops perfect for timeless wedding portraits. The waterfront at sunset is nothing short of magical, providing that perfect golden-hour glow that every wedding photographer in Jacksonville dreams of capturing.

An Emotional First Look with Caitlin and Her Father

One of the most touching moments of the wedding day was Caitlin’s first look with her father. As a Jacksonville wedding photographer, I get to witness raw, unfiltered emotions, and this was one of those moments that reminded me why I love wedding photography in Florida.

Caitlin’s father stood with his back to her, his hands clasped tightly as he waited for his little girl to tap him on the shoulder. When he turned around, the look on his face said it all—pride, love, and the bittersweet realization that his daughter was about to start a new chapter. Tears welled in his eyes as he embraced her, and in that moment, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. I captured each tear, each smile, and each heartfelt word they exchanged. It was a moment of pure love, frozen in time forever—a moment that highlights the importance of professional wedding photography in Jacksonville, FL.

The Bridal Party: Laughter, Love, and Fun Wedding Photography Moments

If there’s one thing Caitlin and Logan’s bridal party brought to the day, it was energy and laughter. From the moment we started taking wedding photos, I knew we were in for a fun and unforgettable bridal party session. As an experienced Jacksonville wedding photographer, I love capturing the candid moments that truly reflect the personalities of the wedding party.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen had an fun, filling every shot with genuine joy. They cracked jokes, struck playful poses. One of my favorite shots was when the crew all stood around Maurice the adorable doggo, a perfect representation of their excitement for the newlyweds. The love and support surrounding Caitlin and Logan were palpable, making my job effortless as I captured candid moments of pure happiness. This is what makes Jacksonville wedding photography so rewarding.

The Unexpected Challenge: A Blocked Road and an Unbreakable Spirit

Just when we thought the wedding day would go as planned, life threw us a curveball. A car accident blocked the only road leading to the Ribault Club, preventing over half the guests and staff from arriving on time. What could have been a logistical nightmare turned into a testament to the love and determination surrounding this wedding.

Because the Ribault Club is located on a peninsula, guests and staff went above and beyond to find a way in. Some took an unexpected ferry ride, others took boats to ensure they didn’t miss the big day. The wedding ceremony, originally scheduled for the afternoon, had to be pushed back two hours to accommodate everyone’s arrival.

Through it all, Caitlin and Logan remained incredibly patient and positive. Instead of letting frustration take over, they embraced the unexpected and focused on what truly mattered—their love and the people who were willing to go the extra mile (literally) to be there for them. This is the kind of resilience that makes for a truly memorable Jacksonville wedding experience.

A First Look on the Aisle and Stunning Dusk Wedding Photography

Because of the delay, Caitlin and Logan’s original wedding photography schedule had to be adjusted. Caitlin had always dreamed of having her first look with Logan at the altar, so we missed out on traditional daylight photos with the full bridal party. But what we lost in daylight, we made up for in creativity with stunning Jacksonville wedding photography at dusk.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we captured some of the most breathtaking dusk portraits of Caitlin and Logan. The soft blue hues of the sky, combined with the warm glow of the venue’s lights, created a cinematic backdrop that felt almost surreal.

When it was time for bridal party photos, we embraced the challenge of shooting at night. Using flash photography, we crafted dramatic and artistic wedding images that added a unique flair to their Jacksonville wedding album. The contrast between the darkness and the bright, joyful expressions of the bridal party made for some truly dynamic shots. It was proof that sometimes, the best wedding photos come from the most unexpected circumstances.

A Rush at Dusk for Dreamy Wedding Photography

After the ceremony concluded and Caitlin and Logan became officialy, “Mr. and Mrs. Werner”, we hurried down to the bay for couples portraits. The bridesmaids hustled there with us to provide some extra help with the dress and little details. They were so much fun to have around and an immense help while time was running short and the sunlight was quickly fading.

Of course we did need to take a quick pit stop on our way down to the water to take some photos with Maurice and the beautiful lights of the Ribault Club behind us.

Golden Hour Wedding Photography at The Ribault in Jacksonville Florida

This wedding venue is an absolute dream. I’m not speechless… you are…

Can you believe the sunset that we had???

The details on her veil have stolen my heart. They are so whimsical and fairy tail. I am in love.

The Magic of Golden Hour vs. Blue Hour Wedding Photography

Photographing Caitlin and Logan during golden hour and blue hour by the bay was an absolute dream. Golden hour—the period just before sunset—bathed the couple in a warm, golden glow, creating soft, romantic images that highlighted their love against the breathtaking waterfront backdrop. The reflections on the still water were nothing short of mesmerizing, doubling the beauty of the scenery and making each shot feel like a fairytale.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, blue hour took over, offering an entirely different but equally enchanting atmosphere. The sky deepened into rich shades of navy and indigo, contrasting beautifully with the warm ambient lights of the Ribault Club. The stillness of the bay mirrored the sky so perfectly that it felt as though Caitlin and Logan were standing between two worlds—above and below, light and dark. The reflections of the couple in the water made for some of the most artistic and breathtaking wedding photography I’ve captured in Jacksonville.

This transition from golden hour to blue hour allowed for a diverse range of images, from dreamy, sun-kissed portraits to dramatic, cinematic silhouettes. The use of off-camera flash added an extra dimension, highlighting the couple against the moody blues of the evening sky. These are the moments that make wedding photography in Jacksonville so extraordinary—where nature and emotion combine to create something truly unforgettable.

A Night to Remember: Jacksonville Wedding Photography at Its Best

Despite the hurdles, Caitlin and Logan’s wedding was nothing short of magical. Their love was evident in every glance, every touch, and every moment they shared. Their guests, though delayed, brought an energy that made the celebration even more unforgettable.

This wedding was a reminder that love isn’t about perfection—it’s about embracing the journey, finding joy in the unexpected, and knowing that no matter what obstacles arise, the most important thing is being surrounded by those who love and support you. As a professional Jacksonville wedding photographer, moments like these are what make my job so special.

As I packed up my camera gear at the end of the night, I couldn’t help but smile. This wasn’t just another wedding—it was a story of perseverance, laughter, and deep, unwavering love. And as a wedding photographer in Jacksonville, FL, I felt honored to have captured every beautiful moment of it.
